We regret to inform you that, due to the situation created by the increasing proliferation of COVID-19 and the necessary restriction measures adopted by public authorities, we are forced to postpone the EU-Russia Climate Conference scheduled for 16/17 March 2020 till fall (date tbc). We are deeply sorry about this necessary step.
We are grateful for your interest and will keep you informed of any new development in the preparation of our event.
The Conference Organising Team
The conference will bring together EU and Russian government and business representatives, think-tanks and experts, NGOs and media and will serve as a platform for open discussion and fruitful dialogue among the Russian and EU main stakeholders, offering a great opportunity to identify areas of mutual interest and potential cooperation between the EU and Russia on climate-related subjects.
The objective of the conference is to open discussion of the climate policy issues and to exchange views between Russian and European businesses on the decarbonisation process, the implications of the Energy Transition, the Green Deal and other initiatives for Russia.
This event comes very timely, as Russia has just joined the Paris Agreement and a few important milestones are envisaged in 2020, including the development of the Low Carbon Development Strategy for Russia up to 2050 and the adoption of a carbon regulation framework. This conference is designed in order to initiate real in-depth discussion on the next steps in Paris Agreement implementation and climate action planification in Russia.
